What is an African Overland Tour?

Overlanding is where it all began for us, and the wild and untamed continent of Africa was where we first started our adventure tours.

Overlanding is for the true adventurous spirit. For the duration of your tour our famous blue 4WD vehicle will virtually become your home, as it takes you across the wide planes of the Serengeti to catch sight of the wandering lions, down into the grand Rift Valley or across the equator into Uganda. Relax with your fellow passengers in our fully equipped truck as our team take you along parts of Southern Africa’s 3000 kilometres of unspoilt coastline with snow-capped peaks, beautiful cities and stunning landscapes.

On an overland tour, everyone pitches in - from setting up camp to the washing up. The camaraderie that develops between Kumuka passengers is fantastic, as all overlanders-regardless of age - have a lust for life and adventurous spirit in common. 

It’s virtually 100% camping. We use a mixture of fixed camps and ‘free bush camps’, where you will be completely self-sufficient in the wilds of Africa. We provide you with tents, which are designed for two people. Don’t worry if you’re travelling solo, you’ll share on a same gender basis.
